What knowledge do we choose to retain? How will that knowledge shape future historians perspective? It is not always obvious for archivists' to know what is relevant, sometimes you have no idea how information will be used, inspire or sit in a box for one hundred years completely forgotten. IUPUI Special Collections tweeted a photograph of hot air balloon riders (1974) which made me question just why is this information retained within their collections?
Carefully cutting the image out, I collaged the riders operating within the University Archive collection policy. Directing the text with different fonts, font sizes and direction. Creating an odd poetic / drawing collage work? This is just one item however I stumbled upon a different method of working collage which requires more exploration!
